Real time capsules go in the ground. This digital time capsule will go in our hearts.

2020 is the year that changed … everything, but especially our relationship to learning. While millions of American kids went to class online, millions of adults confronted our ignorance around racial inequality, white supremacy and other subjects we were never taught in school. One thing we learned is that BIPOC youth are consistently the ones most likely to face remote learning challenges in 2020.

For every page view the capsule received  through the New Year, Thread donated $1 to the Black United Fund of Oregon. BUF offers financial support and life-changing programs to underserved BIPOC communities in Oregon. Through the sheer power of your attention spans, we donated a grand total of $2,225. Thank you, readers! #blacklivesmatter #goodriddance2020
